About Just Right
HOW WE BECAME

Hey new friends — I’m Gina, the Mother of Just Right, and I created this space for women like us: cisgender lesbians 35 and up who are done trying to squeeze ourselves into spaces that were never built with us in mind. Just Right is a private, family-style social club for cisgender lesbians age 35 and older. We are a lesbian-led, member-driven family with a Mother of Just Right, future regional Daughters, and members connected under them, created so grown lesbians have a home that truly feels like their own.
This dream started back in 2003 in Gary, Indiana, when my partner and I, along with my four children, were facing homelessness. When shelters found out we were a lesbian-led family, they put us out. Instead of giving up, I started my first organization, Honeez — a small lesbian-led social club with a group of lesbians on the “board” — and my family and I marched in the first gay pride parade in Gary, Indiana to stand for one simple truth:
No LGBTQ family should be homeless or turned away because of who they are.
FOR UNDERSTANDING SAKES
Between then and 2023, life took me through a lot. I’ve survived mental, physical, and emotional abuse, I’ve been incarcerated, and I’ve raised four children through the highs and lows of motherhood and life. I also ran several different businesses in Indiana, which gave me real-world experience I now pour into this community. I’ve made mistakes, moved to the East Coast for love that didn’t last, and carried plenty of heartache and trauma — and still, the vision for Just Right never left my spirit. I’m hella transparent about my story because it’s proof that we can fall, get back up, and still grow into who we’re meant to be.
In 2023, I watched the movie “Just Wright” with Queen Latifah, and something clicked. I related to her being overlooked and then finally loved exactly as she was. That’s when the name “Just Right” settled in my spirit. It felt like me, and it felt like what I wanted other lesbians to feel too.
I first launched Just Right as a more business-style lesbian social club and even hosted Just Right’s first Coming Out Party. It was beautiful, but it felt more like business than family. That season showed me what was missing and opened the door for what Just Right was truly meant to become.
On November 16, 2025, here in Philadelphia, PA, the deeper vision took root. That day marks the Inception of Just Right as it is now:
A private, lesbian-only social club for cisgender lesbians 35 and up, organized with a chosen-family–inspired structure with a Mother, future regional Daughters, and members connected under them.
I’m not just a founder anymore — I’m the Mother of Just Right. As our family grows, trusted members may become regional Daughters, and other members will be connected under them by region or house. It’s a way to stay close-knit, supported, and accountable — not a ladder of who matters more.
If you’re craving real community, deep connection, and a lesbian-only space where being 35+ is a gift, not a problem, Just Right might be exactly where you belong. 💛
