About Just Right
HOW WE BECAME

Hey new friends — I’m Gina, founder of Just Right, and I created this space for women like us: cisgender lesbian and bisexual women ages 35 and up who are done trying to squeeze themselves into spaces that were never truly built with us in mind.
Just Right is a private, family-style social club for cisgender lesbian and bisexual women age 35 and older.
We are currently in the beginning stages of building a woman-centered, member-centered community rooted in connection, sisterhood, support, and belonging.
This dream started back in 2003 in Gary, Indiana, when my partner and I, along with my four children, were facing homelessness. When shelters found out we were a lesbian-led family, we were put out. Instead of giving up, I started my first organization, Honeez — a small social club for lesbian women — and my family and I marched in the first gay pride parade in Gary, Indiana to stand for one simple truth:
No woman should be left without support, safety, or community because of who she is.
Today, that same belief continues through Just Right — a place where cisgender lesbian and bisexual women can build friendships, create meaningful connections, find support, and become part of something bigger than themselves.
Between then and 2023, life took me through a lot. I’ve survived mental, physical, and emotional abuse, experienced incarceration, and raised four children through the highs and lows of motherhood and life. I also owned and operated several businesses in Indiana, experiences that continue to shape the leadership, resilience, and heart I bring to this community today.
I’ve made mistakes, moved to the East Coast for love that didn’t last, and carried heartache and trauma—and still, the vision for Just Right never left my spirit. I’m transparent about my story because it is proof that we can fall, get back up, and still grow into who we are meant to be.
In 2023, I watched the movie Just Wright with Queen Latifah, and something clicked. I related to the feeling of being overlooked and then finally appreciated exactly as you are. That is when the name Just Right settled in my spirit. It felt like me, and it felt like what I wanted other women to feel too.
I first launched Just Right as more of a business-style social club and even hosted its first Coming Out Party. It was beautiful, but it still felt more like business than the kind of real community I knew was possible. That season showed me what was missing and opened the door for what Just Right was truly meant to become.
Today, Just Right is being built as a private, family-style community where cisgender lesbian and bisexual women ages 35 and up can find connection, support, friendship, belonging, and opportunities to build meaningful relationships with other women who understand their experiences.
On November 16, 2025, here in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the deeper vision took root. That day marked the inception of Just Right as it is now: a private, family-style social club for cisgender lesbian and bisexual women ages 35 and up, created to foster genuine connection, meaningful support, and lasting sisterhood.
Today, Just Right is in its early stages and actively seeking members who believe in building something meaningful from the ground up. Rooted in chosen-family values, Just Right is being created to become a nationwide family, with the long-term vision of members across the United States leading local chapters in their own areas. To preserve the heart, standards, and mission of Just Right, any cisgender woman interested in launching a chapter must first be an active member for at least 90 days.
Through events, conversation, community-building, and meaningful support, my goal is to create a space where cisgender lesbian and bisexual women can feel safe, seen, respected, and truly Just Right.
If you’re craving real community, genuine connection, and a space where being a cisgender woman 35+ is understood, valued, and embraced, Just Right may be exactly where you belong. 💛
